Job Description

The Collier Companies is seeking a Help Desk Technician!

The Help Desk Technician maintain and improve the technical systems of The Collier Companies to ensure all team members have the technology they need to complete their work and the organization’s important files and information remain safe and intact.

The technician will make suggestions, attempting different means of fixing the issue until it is resolved by listening to a description of the problem and accessing information about the specific system or application the user is trying to operate.

This role will report out of The Collier Companies Florida Home Office in Gainesville, which offers beautiful natural areas, a temperate climate, and tremendous educational, cultural, and commercial opportunities.

Essential Job Qualifications:

Troubleshoot all information technology issues, including software, hardware, and networking.

Install and update desktops, laptops, PDAs, peripherals, networks, and related software.

Create accounts and configure hardware as part of on-boarding process

Support audio and video equipment in conference rooms

Manage and monitor internal assets to ensure accurate inventory records

Review diagnostics and assess the functionality and efficiency of systems

Implement security measures

Monitor security certificates and company compliance of requirements

Offer technical support to company staff and troubleshoot computer problems

Anticipate and report the cost of replacing or updating computer items

Since customers and team members may have problems at any hour, help desk technicians are

expected to work in an on-call rotation to cover every shift, including on weekends.

Your Skills - Show Us What You Got:

Windows 10, macOS, and Office 365

2 years+ experience working in a Windows/Mac environment

Active Directory maintenance

Mac and PC hardware, Printers, scanners, computer peripherals, Mobile devices (iOS, Android)

Client PC connectivity - ethernet, TCP/IP and VPN

File server knowledge

Ability to communicate technical information, both verbal and written to a wide range of end-users

A+ and Network+ highly desired

Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills

Keen attention to detail

Good organization, time management and prioritization

Efficient troubleshooting abilities

Effective communication skills, including speaking, writing and active listening

Great customer service and interpersonal skills
