Lighthouse Care Center of Augusta is looking for a high spirited, fantastic Full Time Recreational Therapist to join our team.

Recreation Therapists are expected to perform responsible, professional work in the evaluation and implementation of therapeutic recreation programs designed to increase, maintain or restore physical and mental health function as directed by the physician.

The individual is responsible for assisting patients in reaching their maximum performance levels in the areas of leisure, adaptive and recreational activities.

Responsible for working with a team in the delivery of care and participates in educational experiences for interns.

Job Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Recreational Therapy / Leisure Studies; a Certified Recreational Therapy Specialist (CTRS).

Current, valid driver’s license in good standing

Must obtain CPR, Handle with Care, Verbal De-Escalation, and first aid Certification.

May be required to work overtime, flexible hours and weekend rotations.

Prefer at least one (1) year psychiatric experience with children or adolescents in an acute hospital or residential setting.
