Business Operations Consultant

Our Business Operations team in our Dell APEX Organization coordinates goals and deliverables spanning multiple business units across Dell and senior leaders through operational rigor, owned spend management, and continuous process improvements.

We define scope and objectives based on a thorough understanding of business partners, business needs and processes.

From analyzing, evaluating, and documenting requirements through to specifying solutions, we strive to improve processes and maximize potential.

What you'll achieve

As a Business Operations Consultant you will analyze and define business needs and assist in developing appropriate solutions for our APEX organization across Dell.

The position will focus on identifying the APEX organization's technological, functional, and business strengths, establishing systems that leverage and capitalize on the knowledge of team members, and finding ways to use that knowledge to improve business processes.

The position will also need to formulate and define scope and objectives based on a thorough understanding of business needs and business processes that support our APEX goals across Dell.

You will own, support, and drive projects to completion.

Attention to detail, project management skills, and a highly organized, process-focused mind are required to manage priorities and deliverables.

You must be able to execute under pressure with deadlines and move forward even when faced with ambiguity.

Additionally, you will need to understand the business implications of solutions and assist in defining the solutions to support any future business requirements.

You will:

Work with various APEX Business Units to define and analyze problems

Consider the implications of business solutions to the current and future environment

Evaluate and implement best practice techniques that ensure goal achievement

Identify the business opportunities to deliver value through Knowledge Management at program and business unit levels

Develop and maintain business relationships with senior level business leaders and various APEX business partners across Dell

Influences and manages continuous improvements in operations, processes, practices, and initiatives to increase efficiency

Regularly own and lead projects to deliver

Possess and consistently apply knowledge in multiple functional areas

Serve as a consulting resource for a functional area or make decisions on resource procurement and allocations

Here’s what we are looking for with this role:

Essential Requirements

Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of related experience in professional role or 8+ years with a Master’s degree or 5+ years with a PhD or equivalent experience

Experience directly supporting senior executives with planning related to staffing, budget, operating model, and other operational processes/issues

Advanced knowledge of Knowledge management applications and tools

Ability to communicate clearly and present at the senior leadership levels

Experience with project management methodologies; Agile preferred

Proven project management knowledge and experience and the ability to communicate at all levels of the business

Be responsible for large sized or complex projects and significant components of multiple projects simultaneously

Ability to influence others to achieve results
